Having recent and extensive experience in direct customer contact roles, including collections and financial processing requiring exceptional levels of customer service, my communication skills are of a high standard and I am confident in my ability to undertake this role successfully as a result. In my previous roles within the ATO, I have demonstrated my ability to contact and communicate confidently with customers in order to negotiate and enter into financial arrangements. Within my current role, I am responsible for financial collections, entailing calling clients to ensure payment is going to be made, and re-contacting them if the account is not paid by the agreed date. This process requires my ability to be calm and remain professional with sometimes challenging clients and I have successfully brought outstanding debtors up to date due to my ability to communicate with the clients in a clear and concise manner.
Having worked in multiple and diverse finance-related positions, my particular strengths include liaising with internal and external stakeholders, prioritising my workload and as a former employee of the ATO, my knowledge and understanding of its structures and processes. My ability to foster and maintain relationships was demonstrated in my ATO role at Box Hill as Auditor, Micro Enterprises and Individuals. Within this role, we worked as a team to audit 19 accounts per week in a fast paced environment, requiring attention to detail and responsibility. As a team, we worked together to ensure those that were less experienced were teamed with more experienced personnel and my contribution to the team ensured collaboration and knowledge sharing as well as assisting others to complete their work.
In my current role, I have made a significant positive impact within the Accounts Receivable area, reducing overdue accounts and gaining positive feedback from customers along the way. This role requires my ability to be very well organised, to follow up with clients in a timely manner and to build rapport with decision makers inside debtor companies. I have been able to recover large amounts of overdue monies, and have proven to be a driven employee who can make complex decisions, deal directly with large organisation’s issues and play an important role in my team’s success.
Along with my high level communication skills, I possess research and reporting skills along with intermediate to advanced computer software skills in a range of applications. Across my career, I have developed my skills in a broad range of computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite and have demonstrated my ability to learn new systems quickly and apply them to my work. Computer systems I have experience in using include: Bcc Enterprise, BMD, Citrix, Siebel CRM, ICP, ATOMS, Mainframe and Smart. These have been used across a range of roles, including the ATO, ANZ and my current role at Dentsu Aegis.
My experience in finance-related roles includes my current role as Accounts Receivable Officer, and my roles within the ATO, including Collections Officer and Auditor, demonstrating my experience in this area.
