Performing as an Intensive Care Unit South Team leader within the intensive care unit after hours of St Vincent’s Hospital, I demonstrate my nursing management ability to work within an acute setting providing patient focused care. Working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, I present patient flow management discussions across St Vincent’s Hospital. Accountable for best practice outcomes, I deliver management expertise in the coordination of bed-moves and arrangements of patient transport from theatre to wards.

Accurately recording and modifying patient details to enable efficient receipt and transfer between wards and hospitals, I have efficient and resilient in often high pressure environments.
The nature of my work is both pre-active and re-active, which can change very quickly without warning, often requiring me to be open and ready to reschedule, cancel and re-staff at a moments’ notice. In addition to this, I am required to liaise and collaborate with the Intensive Care Unit North Team leader reassessing appropriate clinical skill-sets per shift and resource allocations. Collectively, we determine on the best possible solutions that allow our teams to continue to provide safe, high quality patient care. On occasions where there is a forecast in skills gap within nurses on any particular shift, I am responsible for the escalation of this problematic resource issue to the After Hours Nurse Manager. During my tenure as a Practice Nurse with Holdsworth House Medical Practice, I mastered the Practix system, which was used to create patient records, update and register patient details and enter pathology results and make patient bookings. Throughout my position as Registered Nurse at Royal North Shore Hospital, I demonstrated my sound technical skills in Cerner eMR to action patient moves within the multi-disciplinary team including discharging of patients.
