As a professional administrative and customer service officer who has over 20 years of experience in a variety of sectors, I am extremely interested in this position. It represents an avenue for me to demonstrate and build on my extensive experience, business acumen and practical skills. Throughout my career, especially within customer-focused industries, I have developed the ability to think logically, understand situations from a strategic perspective and follow through by formulating and implementing effective short-term and long-term decisions.

Whilst undertaking responsibilities with Choices Rockingham, in the capacity of Administrative Officer, I interacted with a customer who was extremely irate about their carpet order not arriving on due date. The customer advised that they had removed all furniture from their residence in anticipation of carpet installation, I acknowledged the customers concerns demonstrating my ability to listen and ask questions that ensured understanding and checking own communication had been understood. Following company guidelines on this occasion, I offered the customer the approved solution of Choices Rockingham paying costs of the furniture moving costs as compensation for the late carpet delivery. The result of my ability to achieve results in often highly emotional customer environments, I was able to provide a solution that upheld the reputation of the company and met expectations of customer applying capabilities that exceeded performance indicators. Possessing an ability to achieve results in a protocol and results-driven environment, I display my strong desire to excel in all business areas, whilst striving for excellence.

Under difficult circumstances, I have demonstrated my resilience and professionalism. For example, in my position as owner of Family Day Care, I was responsible in dealing with sensitive customer situations whilst adhering to strict legislation. Through my ability to understand and provide an atmosphere of open communication, I was successfully in building and maintaining cultivating relationships, primarily with parents. When dealing with sensitive material, I was diligent to clear anything sent through my manager. On one particular occasion, I received a phone call from an elderly customer who was concerned about the amount they had been charged. Discussing the customers issues thoughtfully, I instigated an investigation on this particular account. Raising immediately the concern to the relevant department for escalation who upon review of this account it was discovered they had been overcharged on product purchased. As a result of my ability to resolve conflicts that arose within my position, I communicated with respect and influence to all stakeholders, resulting in a resolution for this client.

The achievements obtained throughout this position, and as the director of family day care centre, I confidently displayed my commitment to behave in an honest, professional and ethical way. Throughout my career with IGA and prior employers, I have assumed a level of responsibility that has demanded exceptional communication such as undertaking staff mentoring and training, preparing reports, attending meetings and interpreting relevant company guidelines and compliance frameworks.
