Maintain health and safety practices, follow and support the implementation of and advise staff on any health and safety matters to ensure a safe working environment
Throughout my career I have demonstrated an ability to maintain, follow and support health and safety practices in the workplace, ensuring a safe work environment at all times. I adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and keep abreast of changes as they arise through various mediums including online research, intranet and email.
Previously in my role as onsite Response Manager with HP at the Department of Agriculture, I completed both the HP and Department of Agriculture OHS induction. Monthly they conducted fire drills that I was a participant of and advised fellow team members of the importance of the drills and the requirement to follow the Department’s procedures. If members of the HP team were not present at the time of the drill, I was tasked with sharing information pertaining to OHS matters onsite with the Department of Agriculture.
Responsible for ensuring total compliance with DEBU security requirements and procedures at all times
Throughout my career I have been responsible for identifying, monitoring and complying to security requirements based on the organisation’s procedures and requirements. This was evidenced in my role as the onsite Response Manager with HP at the Department of Agriculture where, on numerous occasions I identified security breaches and dealt with them immediately. On one occasion, I noticed a laptop had been left on an employee’s desk and the employee had left the office for the evening. I took the initiative to remove the laptop and secure it in a locked cabinet and placed a note on the employee’s desk advising them to the breach of security policy and the location of the laptop.
As a result of identifying the need to comply with security requirements and procedures, I effectively ensured that procedures were adhered to, enabling the protection and security of the Department’s intellectual property.
Coordinate delivery and support of project performance deliverables to appropriate internal and external stakeholders as directed.
Throughout my career I have been tasked with coordinating delivery and support of hundreds of projects. This is evidenced most recently in my role as Project Coordinator/Junior Project Manager with the Australian Taxation Office via Optus. The client requested that new dataports be installed urgently within a very tight timeframe. In order to successfully complete this project, I met with the client and once I identified the client’s requirements, I then put together an internal delivery team. Subsequently, I met with the specialist Network Engineers to ensure the project could be delivered within the requirement timeframe. Once an agreement was reached, the project commenced.
This project required extensive liaison with external stakeholders such as the externally managed Data Centre, where the routers were to be installed. I contacted the external party and arranged access for our engineers within 24 hours. Throughout this project, I kept both internal and external stakeholders updated via emails, face-to-face meetings and regular phone calls. In addition, I utilised the Remedy System to record change requests, issues and risks.
On successful completion of this complex project, I was commended by the client on a job well done; the project was completed within the required timeframe exceeding the client’s expectations.
Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms to a variety of stakeholders.Over the years, I have assumed a high-level of responsibility that has demanded exceptional communication, I ensure I listen carefully to others, and check to ensure that their views and requirements have been understood.
In my current role as Project Coordinator/Junior Project Manager with the Australian Taxation Office via Optus, I am responsible for running 12 projects concurrently. This requires a high degree of communication with internal technical staff, external vendors and the management team.
I effectively track all projects via the project tracking software whilst communicating effectively both in oral in written formats. In writing, I set up meetings, request documentation and project updates; face to face I conduct meetings, provide updates and conduct general conversations of a technical nature to ensure my assigned projects are completed within specification and on time to meet the clients’ requirements.
